Le rasage traditionnel est bien plus qu’une routine : c’est un rituel d’élégance et de précision. Pourtant, même les passionnés les plus aguerris ont un jour commis des erreurs qui ont transformé ce moment de plaisir en une épreuve désagréable. Irritations, coupures, mousse mal montée… Autant de pièges qui peuvent décourager les débutants.
Heureusement, la plupart de ces erreurs sont faciles à éviter une fois identifiées. Dans cet article, Darwin vous guide pour un rasage impeccable, sans faux pas. Suivez le guide !
1. Utiliser une lame émoussée ou inadaptée
Le problème :
Une lame usée ou mal choisie est la cause numéro un des irritations et des coupures. Elle tire sur les poils au lieu de les couper net, agressant la peau et rendant le rasage inconfortable.
La solution :
- Changez de lame régulièrement : Une lame de qualité se change tous les 3 à 5 rasages, selon la dureté de votre barbe.
- Choisissez une lame adaptée : Les peaux sensibles opteront pour des lames douces (comme les Astra Superior Platinum), tandis que les barbes épaisses nécessiteront des lames plus robustes (comme les Feather).
- Testez différentes marques : Chaque peau réagit différemment. Mieux vaut tester au moins trois marques de lames différentes. Ce n’est pas ça qui coûte cher, mais c’est ce qui fait toute la différence !
➡️ À retenir : Une lame neuve et adaptée = un rasage doux et efficace.
2. Négliger la préparation de la peau et de la barbe
Le problème :
Se raser sur une peau sèche ou mal préparée, c’est comme tailler une haie sans élaguer les branches rebelles : ça tire, ça irrite, et le résultat est médiocre. Les poils résistent, la mousse n’adhère pas, et les irritations apparaissent.
La solution :
- Nettoyez et hydratez : Lavez votre visage à l’eau tiède pour ouvrir les pores et adoucir les poils. Utilisez un savon pré-rasage pour éliminer les impuretés.
- Appliquez une crème ou un savon à raser de qualité : Une mousse onctueuse protège la peau et permet à la lame de glisser. Nos savons à raser artisanaux sont formulés pour une glisse optimale.
- Ne vous rasez pas après un effort intense (sport) ou après un gommage.
➡️ À retenir : Un rasage réussi commence avant même que la lame ne touche votre peau.
3. Appliquer trop de pression sur le rasoir
Le problème :
Appuyer fort sur le rasoir ne le rend pas plus efficace – au contraire ! Cela augmente le risque de coupures, d’irritations, et use prématurément votre matériel.
La solution :
- Laissez le rasoir glisser : Le poids du rasoir de sûreté suffit. Tenez-le par le manche et guidez-le avec légèreté.
- Adoptez un angle de 30° : Ni trop plat (la lame ne coupe pas), ni trop vertical (risque de coupure).
- Rasez par sections courtes : Pas besoin de longues passes comme dans les pubs. Des mouvements de 2-3 cm suffisent, vous gagnerez en précision.
➡️ À retenir : Le rasage traditionnel, c’est la précision, pas la force.
4. Raser à contre-sens dès le premier passage
Le problème :
Raser à contre-sens (contre la pousse des poils) dès la première passe peut causer des irritations, des poils incarnés, et une sensation de tiraillement.
La solution :
- Premier passage : dans le sens de la pousse : Cela réduit les risques d’irritation.
- Deuxième passage (si nécessaire) : perpendiculaire ou légèrement à contre-sens : Pour les zones résistantes, mais toujours avec précaution.
- Évitez les passes répétées : Deux passages maximum par zone suffisent.
➡️ À retenir : La patience paie. Mieux vaut deux passes douces qu’une seule agressive.
5. Oublier l’après-rasage
Le problème :
Sécheresse, tiraillements, voire infections des micro-coupures… Négliger l’après-rasage, c’est gâcher tout le soin apporté aux étapes précédentes.
La solution :
- Rincez à l’eau froide : Pour resserrer les pores et apaiser la peau.
- Appliquez un après-rasage adapté : Privilégiez un baume apaisant sans alcool pour les peaux sensibles, ou une lotion tonique pour un effet frais et antiseptique.
- Hydratez : Une noisette de crème hydratante scellera l’hydratation.
➡️ À retenir : L’après-rasage est la touche finale qui fait toute la différence. Les aftershaves Darwin sont spécialement formulés pour soigner et réhydrater après le rasage.
Bonus : Les erreurs liées au matériel
- Utiliser un blaireau de mauvaise qualité : Un blaireau bas de gamme ne montera pas une mousse onctueuse et peut irriter. Nos blaireaux Darwin sont conçus pour un rasage doux et efficace.

Testé ce matin en même temps que le savon de la même gamme. Odeur subtile et qui reste plutôt discrète. La formulation donne un petit coup de fouet à la peau. Le petit bouchon qui permet un goutte à goutte est très pratique. Je recommande autant que le savon !
Testé ce matin même, je suis enchanté. Le parfum est subtil, il n’est pas entêtant. Quant à la mousse que ce savon produit, elle est onctueuse à souhait et la qualité de la glisse est remarquable, pour l’instant le meilleur de ma collection. Utilisé avec un R41 en inox, la lame glissait toute seule avec une grande facilité. Je suis très satisfait par mon achat, et je ne peux que recommander ce savon 😊
Le blaireau « Drake » est un super outil, le poil est extrêmement doux, le chargement se fait simplement et monte très vite. Le manche est très ergonomique, une brosse dont je suis très satisfait !

Just received the brush today and did a test lather with it. The handle is really solid, has nice weight, and I really like the clean retro look of it. The knot is fantastic. Very soft tips, great backbone, but also splays very well. It's not a high-density knot but just dense enough, which means the flow-through is very good. Generated a very good lather very quickly. I'm really gonna enjoy using this.

Great soap: the foam is very thick and protective and the razor slides really easy. I've used it only once but seems very protective on the skin too.
The scent is really nice: a little too much on the citronelle side in the opening but soon compensated by the ginger and the orange.
The aftershave is really high in alcohol but works well.
Popped in a new astra blade, and was shocked how close of a shave I recieved.

J'ai mis cinq étoiles pour ce blaireau de rasage parce qu'il n'y a pas six étoiles !
J'ai une petite collection de brosses de rasage et celle-ci après plusieurs utilisations est sans conteste entrée dans mes favorites. Le look et le design sont très originaux; la préhension est excellente notamment avec la partie inférieure à facettes. Le manche est bien réalisé et les couleurs sont jolies.
Et je n'ai pas parlé de la qualité de la touffe ! Nous sommes sur de l'excellent niveau, point. Pour moi les dimensions sont parfaites. Cette touffe possède un pouvoir caressant et massant assez hallucinant.
Mais un blaireau Darwin, ce n'est pas qu'un blaireau: il y a un univers, un packaging hors du commun. Tout est soigné jusqu'au petit mot personnalisé accompagnant le tout.
Darwin c'est une expérience d'achat incomparable !

Shipping to the USA was fast and hassle-free. The razor is as others have noted, somewhat smaller than is typical, with a very thin handle. Additionally, the baseplate is rather thin, and yes, the teeth of the comb are somewhat sharpish. Nonetheless, this is a really nice razor for the price.
The shave is not as aggressive as I thought it might be, given that it is an open comb design, but all in all, it is a nicely constructed razor and I am glad to have bought it. Included in the package was a sample of aftershave lotion from Rasoirs Darwin, with a handwritten "thank you" (or "Merci beaucoup!") in this case, which was a nice touch.
I would happily buy from OSSbrocante again!

Wow, this Shaving Brush is amazing, so much better than it looks in pictures and the quality is amazing the knot is such great quality, I have some good brushes that cost 4 or 5 time this one and I have to say this is now my favourite brush.
The first thing that got my attention in this brush was the shape of the handle which is very art-deco, with style different than the usual brushes.
Now after some shaves I can tell you that I am happy to have this brush in my shave den not just for the look, but for its characteristics also. The quality of the resin is faultless, and the handle is not only elegant, but also very ergonomic with good heft. The knot has caught me by surpise also, and this comes from a guy who prefers boars and badgers instead of synthetics. It is not 'springy' at all, and it has very natural feel on the face similar with a tuxedo knot in softness. The backbone is similar with a 26mm silvertip badger, or,(to give you a different example), a 24mm best badger from DR Harris.
On another note the service & communication of Thomas is excellent!

Save your money! This razor is really cheap and almost unusable. The Leresche name led me to believe it would be a high quality item. Unfortunately, its not. Leresche didn't print it's name on the razor because it was originally sold as a lower quality general razor to other companies for resale. The teeth are terribly sharp and will scrape your face when shaving. The razor is also very, very light and feels strange in the hand. I wouldn't have bought it if I would have known what I know now, save yourself the disappointment.

Received it quickly! As noted in the description, this was not designed to be a top-end razor, so the machining is aesthetically a bit rough in places. But it's still solidly constructed, and it shaves excellently! And I think it's plated brass, which gives it more longevity than the zamak of most modern razors. This is my new favourite safety razor 😀
