This safety razor is in good condition for its age. It is a vintage model called monobloc (butterfly type), from set number #55, manufactured by Gillette in England in the 1950s, exclusively for the French market. This makes it a sought-after razor!
Rocket is the name of a family of Gillette razors that are all metal, with a butterfly head, and generally quite massive. HD stands for “Heavy Duty”. Now that’s solid! It’s perfect for a beginner to traditional shaving, and will of course suit the more experienced shaver.
The razor has a plating in good general condition, please take a good look at all the photos. The head is slightly twisted in relation to the handle, but this does not in any way hinder its opening/closing, nor its good use.
The original case, whose yellow colour is exclusive to the French market, is in generally good condition. The transparent part is whitened, and there are a few slight cracks, but nothing serious.
