Ebony and Silver Metal ATRA Contour razor – Darwin

Darwin has handcrafted this Gillette Contour razor in France.

ATRA / Contour razor head

The twin-blade head on this Contour (= ATRA) razor gives a close shave thanks to its pivoting head, which kisses the curves of the face as closely as possible.

This is an official Schick head, whose quality is renowned the world over (now allied with Wilkinson). The head is in black plastic and gold metal, and comes from a new-old stock from the late 1990s.

ATRA / Contour razor handle

The handle is made from ebony wood and silver-plated metal, and has been hand-crafted in-house from old pieces (1970-1980) also made in France, in Thiers. The wood and silver-plated metal will develop a beautiful patina over time. The shape of the razor, flattened lengthways, makes it easy to hold.
