Beautiful antique safety razor, with no visible markings. It is a 3-piece razor with a short screw and open comb, made entirely of metal.
The razor head is made of nickel-plated metal (in poor condition), and the handle is made of silver-plated metal in good condition. Please take a close look at the photos. Made in France, it is usually found in cases marked “Oxford”, “Rivolia” or “Confortable” and others. This is why I call it an “Oxford-type” razor.
The “canon” shaped handle is just gorgeous and make this razor a beautiful addition to any collection. This models exists in single and double ring (just like Gillette, which was the inspiration back then). This one here is a double ring. This razor dates from the early 20th century, I’d say between 1915 and 1930.
It accepts standard-size double-edged safety razor blades.
The razor weighs 43g and measures 8 cm.
