This safety razor is a beautiful vintage three-piece model with a short screw and closed comb, made by Gillette. Quite unusually, all the parts of the razor are made of nickel-plated metal, whereas they are usually made of aluminium. This gives it a very different weight!
The top cap features the Gillette logo etched into it. The guard plate has some signs of oxidation, see photos.
You are buying the razor shown in the photos. Made in USA. The razor weighs 63 grams and measures 8.3 cm. Date code B3, which indicates it was made in 1956.
The original cardboard box is worn and damaged, but still full of 1950s charm. This razor is old but ready to be used again, or to take pride of place in any collection.
Ideal for beginners to traditional shaving, but will of course suit the experienced shaver.
