Beautiful old Gillette adjustable safety razor, model “Super Adjustable” but nicknamed “Black Beauty” by collectors, because its handle is covered with a black coating of the most beautiful effect.

Original model with metal base plate. Date code S1: this shaver dates from 1972.

This razor is in very good working order, with the opening ring and adjusting ring turning correctly. The plating is still very good on the head, but less so on the handle, see photos.

Always adjust the razor when it is OPEN to avoid putting strain on the internal mechanism.
