This safety razor is a beautiful vintage three-piece model with a short screw and closed comb, made by Gillette. The handle and cap are in black anodised metal, and the guard plate is in nickel-plated metal. This black anodising is typical of American military service razors. There is also an “S” for “Service” on the guard plate. This is a razor from the 1950s or 1960s, supplied to GIs in the US Army. As far as I know, the spiral handle first appeared in 1957.
The razor weighs g and measures 8.1 cm.
This razor is old but ready to be used again, or to take pride of place in any collection.
Ideal for beginners to traditional shaving, but will of course suit the experienced shaver.
