Magnificent antique razor, called Le Touriste, made in France. The forged blade (hoe type) is held by a hook/spring on the top. The round knob allows you to control the distance between the cutting edge and the teeth. This makes it possible to adjust the razor’s aggressiveness, but also to follow the edge as it was sharpened, as in time the blades were shortened.
The box is complete and in superb condition. The razor has a few traces of oxidation, but nothing too serious. The set includes two original damascus-effect blades.
Both the blades and the razor are marked “Le Touriste, Breveté SGDG”. Produced at the very beginning of the twentieth century, around 1910.
