This safety razor is in correct condition for its age. It is a vintage model called monobloc (butterfly, or TTO type), coming from the set #55, manufactured by Gillette in England in the 1950’s, exclusively for the French market.
HD stands for “Heavy Duty”, that’s for sure, it’s solid! Ideal for beginners to traditional shaving, but will of course suit the experienced shaver.
The razor has a tarnished plating on the handle and the top of the head, and the bottom of the head has lost its plating, see pictures. This will not hinder its good use. The price takes into account these defects, this razor remains a rare and sought after model.
