The handle of this shaving brush is made of two genuine bone parts : The bottom half is very old (early 20th century), made of turned bone in England (surely by Simpson), while the top part has been made very recently, to bring this brush back to life. Please note the bottom half has cracks and damages (see pictures).

The handle has been cleaned, polished and sterilised, but has retained its history and patina.

The loft is made of real badger hair, grade “high mountain white”. This rare grade is beautiful to the eye, and incomparably soft. The body of the hair is very, very fine, and the tips are left natural and soft. The knot of this shaving brush has been handcrafted by a French master artisan especially for this handle. So this knot will have its own character, for a truly unique shaving brush!

The shaving brushes of the time were much smaller than today, but so classy… This beautiful shaving brush has the following dimensions:

Loft diameter : 20mm
Loft height : 43mm
Total height : 110mm

Please note : bone is a “living” material, it doesn’t like water. So, when you use it, be sure to NEVER put the bone part in water, and since the hairs have capillary action, be sure to not let it soak too long (a few seconds is enough). The bone would expend and thus crack. If it does, when it cools down and dries the crack should resorb again, so the brush would not be completely gone, but still. I personnaly used to own a bone brush, never had a problem when following these step.
